That’s just me saying what I want. I’m not saying what can definitely happen but you might as well just state out loud what you want. That’ll put you one step closer to getting it.”

Earlier in the interview, Ebro Darden wanted to get Uzi to rap over DJ Premier’s “Mass Appeal” production, but the Philadelphia representative refused, claiming he was “too young” and he is “not into that.”

New Notorious B.I.G. & Tupac Based Thriller “Labyrinth” To Star Johnny Depp
Long time actor Johnny Depp is slated to play the lead role in the upcoming film “Labyrinth,” which is based on the true story of Los Angeles Detective Russell Poole and his role in investigating the deaths of Hip-Hop legends Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.
The Hollywood Reporter indicates that Depp will play the role of Poole with the film to be directed by Brad Furman of Good Films, the company behind Bryan Cranston’s crime drama “The Infiltrator.”
Also, Christian Contreras wrote the screenplay for the film which is adapted from the Randall Sullivan penned book, Labyrinth: A Detective Investigates the Murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G., the Implication of Death Row Records’ Suge Knight, and the Origins of the Los Angeles Police Scandal.
In addition, UTA and WME Global will be co-repping U.S. rights while Good Universe is set to handle international sales.Detective Poole spent months investigating the murders of the Hip-Hop stars before he discovered that “gangsta cops in his own force were not only involved but were also tied to Death Row Records and the Bloods street gang.”
This eventually led to Poole entering into retirement early in protest.
Ironically, Russell Poole died of a heart attack in August of 2015 during a meeting about the murders at the L.A. County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting for the new thriller “Labyrinth” will begin later this year.

Donald Glover’s ‘Atlanta’ Earns Critical Acclaim; Social Media Praises Premiere
Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover may have a TV hit on his hands. The actor/rapper’s Atlanta dramedy is already a critical darling.
The show about the Atlanta rap scene premiered last night (September 6) on FX. Prior to the initial broadcast, the series had already earned a 100% rating from Rotten Tomatoes.
The review aggregator website critic consensus reads, “Ambitious and refreshing, Atlanta offers a unique vehicle for star and series creator Donald Glover’s eccentric brand of humor — as well as a number of timely, trenchant observations.”
In addition, the review site Metacritic also gives Glover’s show high marks. Atlanta collected a score of 91 which indicates “universal acclaim.”While the professional critics are fond of Atlanta, the court of public opinion often has a greater impact on the success of a television program.
According to the collective Twitterverse, Glover’s take on Southern culture connected with a lot of viewers. #AtlantaFX was the #1 trending topic on the social media platform as the show was airing.
Atlanta stars Donald Glover (Community, The Martian) as Earnest “Earn” Marks, Keith Stanfield (Selma, Straight Outta Compton) as Darius, and Brian Tyree Henry (Boardwalk Empire, Vice Principals) as up-and-coming rapper Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles.

Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” Becomes Second Video To Collect 2 Billion YouTube Views
(more yarns)Wiz Khalifa is having a great birthday week. The Pittsburgh native – born on September 8 – was named in the Top 5 of Forbes‘ Hip-Hop Cash Kings and his “See You Again” video has crossed a major milestone.
His hit record featuring Charlie Puth is currently the second clip to collect at least 2 billion views on YouTube. The only other video that has been watched that many times is Psy’s “Gangnam Style” (2.6 billion).
“See You Again” spent 12 non-consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The breakout single from the Furious 7 soundtrack was nominated for three Grammys and a Golden Globe award.
Drake Denies Being Robbed After Tour Bus Jewelry Heist
Drake made quite a scene last week when he seemingly heard the news that his and Future’s Summer Sixteen Tour bus was the scene of a jewelry heist. Now, he denies having any knowledge of the incident.
TMZ caught up with Drizzy in West Hollywood, California on Wednesday (September 7) to ask him about the situation, which the cameraman calls a robbery.
“Nobody robbed me,” he says.
And, as the website points out, this is true. The nearly $3 million worth of jewelry did not belong to the Toronto rapper, but to Drake’s tour deejay, Future The Prince. And the legal definition of robbery requires force or intimidation. Drake was not on the bus at the time someone reportedly got on to take the valuables, so it technically wasn’t a robbery.
But the cameraman keeps pressing Drake and tells him that a suspect had been arrested. The suspect is 21-year-old Travion Lamar King and was taken into custody after trespassing on Arizona State University’s campus. He was found with the missing jewels and booked for felony burglary.
“Say what?” Drake responds when the paparazzo tells him police caught the guy.
He was out on the town with rumored girlfriend Rihanna, so maybe Drake just didn’t want to talk about that night in Phoenix. Whatever the reasoning for his answers, don’t expect him to follow in Gucci Mane’s footsteps and recount the incident in a song called “Robbed.”
Watch the footage of Drake denying being robbed after tour bus jewelry heist below.

Gucci Mane Says He Did New Feature For OutKast
Those who had the stamina (or were bored) to watch minutes of Snapchat footage of Gucci Mane‘s workout with his girlfriend, Keyshia Ka’oir, were treated to a special announcement today.
Dripping with sweat, Guwop said that he recorded a feature for OutKast. This Labor Day, along with his intense workout regiment, the Trap King said he clocked a full day in the studio, “ain’t no holiday.”
He said he did eight verses, including one for the iconic rap duo. The other artists besides the fellow ATLiens graced with new Gucci Mane bars include Lil Wayne, Boosie Badazz, E-40, Quavo, Diplo and 2 Chainz.
Big Boi and Andre 3000 have not released an Outkast album since 2003’s Speakerboxxx / The Love Below, although they did do the Idlewild soundtrack in 2006. OutKast toured together in 2014 and are set to perform as part of the Dungeon Family reunion at ONE Musicfest September 10.

Sean Paul Joins Outcry Against Drake For Appropriating Dancehall
Drake has received plenty of criticism from those who think he is appropriating dancehall and Sean Paul is the latest voice to join in that discussion. He explains his problems with the Toronto rapper, Justin Bieber and others for using the genre without credit.
“It is a sore point when people like Drake or Bieber or other artists come and do dancehall-orientated music but don’t credit where dancehall came from and they don’t necessarily understand it,” the dancehall legend says to The Guardian. “A lot of people get upset, they get sour. And I know artists back in Jamaica that don’t like Major Lazer because they think they do the same thing that Drake and Kanye did – they take and take and don’t credit.”
Paul says that he still enjoys Drizzy‘s music, but views the way he infuses dancehall less as a tribute and more as exploitation.
“I love some of his songs but I don’t think he’s the best rapper,” he continues.
As Paul works on new music, he understands the importance of keeping up with trends in order to maintain relevance. He’s worked with Wiz Khalifa and Blood, the producer who crafted Bieber’s “Sorry.” He believes he can serve as the much-needed link to the genre’s origins.
“Dancehall is back but this time it’s also infused with Afrobeat, with hip-hop, with trap, and that’s fine with me,” he says. “Sure, I would like what we do in Jamaica, that authentic dancehall, to be on top, but it simply isn’t. So I want this album to bridge that gap.”
Other critics of the appropriation of dancehall include Azealia Banks, who dissed Rihanna’s “Work” video, which features Drake. She said that it reminded her of a Sean Paul video, “except not as fly.”
Mr. Vegas has been a leading voice on the debate against the use of dancehall and spoke out against Popcaan for defending Drake. He shared his grievances with HipHopDX’s senior features writer Ural Garrett.
“I call a spade a spade,” he says. “I’m a straightforward person and not going to try to play hypocrite because I’m hoping Drake is going to put me on a record or Rihanna is going to put me on a record. I’m just going to be straight up if it’s bullshit. If it’s bullshit, it’s bullshit. First of all, I don’t have a problem with anyone who does Dancehall or Reggae music or artists who cover Dancehall or Reggae music as long as people are recognizing where it’s coming from and giving the artists their due.”

Kid Cudi Announces Double Disc Album For September
Kid Cudi is set to release an album this month and he says the physical will be a double-disc project.
Upon making the announcement on Twitter, Cudi says he will not be fueling the ongoing streaming war as he promises that the project will be available on “ALL PLATFORMS for streaming and download.” Physical copies will shortly follow, which will be in the format of a double disc because the project is 18 tracks and more than 90 minutes long.
The Cleveland artist expressed his gratitude for his fans and said he wants to make their experience as easy as possible.
“Music shouldn’t be a headache to find especially in a digital space,” he says. “It’s actually easier going to Best Buy to get a CD than it is to DL one.”
He previously announced plans to drop two projects this year, Passion, Pain and Demon Slayin and a project whose title has not yet been announced.
Whatever comes this month will be the follow-up to Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven.

Young Thug Expresses "Love" For Lil Wayne
The relationship between rappers Lil Wayne and Young Thug has been puzzling to say the least, but in a handful of tweets sent early this morning (September 5), Thugger again expressed his appreciation for his “idol.”
In addition to offering praise for Weezy, Thug said he hoped the Young Money lyricist was sorry for “bashing” him. The Atlanta musician’s Barter 6 album, and his decision to initially title the project Carter 6, wasn’t taken lightly by Wayne.
“@LilTunechi I promise I’m holding u down no matter what… fuck the world and what they think\feel I’m with u for life, ur the reason I rap………I just wish u could love me the way I love u big bro… ur my idol for life and I hope ur sorry for bashing me, not knowing how much I love u,” Young Thug wrote in two separate tweets.Young Thug’s tweets come shortly after Wayne expressed his need for “serenity” via possible retirement from the rap game. The vague tweets also set off concerns about Wayne’s wellbeing.
“I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I’m dun…ain’t lookin for sympathy, just serenity,” Lil Wayne tweeted on September 3.
He later informed fans that he was “good.”

Tupac's Handwritten Lyrics & Letter Selling For Over $35K Each
With the 20th anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s death a little over a week away, memorabilia site Moments In Time is selling a handful of items from the late rapper.
Among those items is a handwritten lyric sheet for the Better Dayz track, “Catchin’ Feelings.” Released in 2002, Better Dayz serves as Pac’s fourth posthumous release.
TMZ reports that the authentic lyric sheet was obtained by an ex-employee at a studio where Tupac recorded the song. The employee has held on to the piece of memorabilia, which is now framed, since 1996, when “Catchin’ Feelings” was recorded.
The current retail price for the “Catchin’ Feelings” handwritten lyrics stands at $38,500.
Additionally, Moments In Time is also selling what it claims to be the “Earliest Known Letter of Tupac Shakur.” The retail price for the letter is currently $35,000.
Over the past year, Moments In Time has sold several items once belonging to Tupac. One of the priciest items, a handwritten letter addressed to former Death Row Uncut magazine editor Nina Bhadreshwar, has a retail price of $225,000.
The letter was written while Tupac was locked up at New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility.

Hopsin Says He Was Arrested In Australia & May Be Banned From The Country
In an Instagram upload made over the weekend, Los Angeles rapper Hopsin revealed that he had been jailed while in Sydney, Australia. He added that he may now be banned from the country.
In the caption to a Kevin Hart meme, Hopsin informed fans that he “Just got out of FUCKin jail…over some total bullshit. They’re really bout to ban me from Australia now.”
He then touched on the “dark hole” he’s been unable to escape and wanting to “literally die.”
“Shit ain’t really that pretty over here at all,” Hopsin wrote in the caption to his Instagram photo. “You guys may ask ‘why take it to social media’, but youguys are all I got. Since 14 I slaved away for the music and fan base and now music is all I have. That’s just the cards I was dealt. I fell into a dark hole that I haven’t been able to get out of. Im a master at glorifying my pain, but pain isn’t never good. Im only writing this right now because it’s making me feel better for the time being. Maybe it is so I can get sorrow. I don’t know. I can’t see myself ever doing it, but I actually wanna literally die. Like literally. My funeral would be a blessing for me right now. I’m the emotional rapper, I know. Make fun of me. Do as you please. I can’t change the way I am. This may be a moment that I look back on and laugh, but right now, I’m not laughing. What would make a 31 year old man cry on a daily basis? Being rich as hell, successful with no love around him. that’s a first class ticket on air robin Williams. I ain’t goin nowhere tho. I might have to disappear soon and take some time to myself.”
While official details on Hopsin’s arrest in Sydney have yet to be revealed, Australian website MusicFeeds reports that New South Wales Police confirmed that Sydney City Local Area Command did arrest a 31-year-old man in the city.
Almost two years ago, Hopsin shared with fans his plans to retire from rap and move to Australia. Both were later revealed to be a hoax from the rapper.

Young Thug’s Sisters Dora & Dolly Make Rap Career Official With "Family Ties" EP
After moving approximately 40K units, including streaming, with his recent mixtape Jeffery, the Atlanta rap star Young Thug has shifted his focus to the careers of his two sisters Dorothea (“Dora”) and Alexis (“Dolly”) Grier. The second youngest of 11 children, Young Thug’s family has always played a crucial role in his music. The youngest of the bunch, Dora, is the exuberant Lucky Charms-fanatic from Thug’s 2015 hit, “Best Friend,” and the more enigmatic of the two, Dolly, is also cited in multiple songs as an inspiration (most notably on Barter 6 ballad “OD.”)
After making their debut appearances earlier this year on the closing track of their brother’s I’m Up mixtape, “Family,” the duo is back with a nine-track EP of their own, aptly titled Family Ties.
In a February 2016 interview with Complex, the Thugga siblings discussed the making of their debut record and how it came together organically.
“Dora and I were in the studio with Jeff and a couple of his friends while we’re debating on who’s going to the NBA Finals, and he was playing the beat,” Dolly recalled. “The beat played like, 100 times. We were like, “If you play the beat one more time….” We actually did the song in his house studio before, but it can’t be released because it was a feature [for another artist working with Jeff], and we were just playing on it. We decided to get up from the studio room and go into the recording room, and we were just drinking.”
The sisters enlist the help of notable YSL producers Wheezy and Goose, as well as Zaytoven’s newest signee CassiusJay, and keep the familial theme going with a verse from their incarcerated brother Unfunk on “The Truth.” Young Thug can be found showing support on the opening track, “Serving the Plug,” but ultimately takes a backseat in order to let his siblings tell their story.
WHO YOU REALLY HER.
My hands are itching; the mind is beating the lines keep coming. Am an African and you are ?, its not about the color of my skin its about the choices I have to pick from.
Don’t condemn me but you can talk about me I believe in the doctrines and abide by those things am suppose to do and not to do “ because me self na human being. We are being hypnotized by a lot of people e.g. Doctors, lawyers , politicians ,teachers ,professors ,pastors etc. they make us believe what they want us to believe and a lot of people who have been hypnotized by those words take you to be the devils advocate because you don’t follow that school of thought.
Every thought comes with a reason, every reason its season knowing what you want is the first step to your success. You can only achieve this when you abide by those doctrines, this are things you know not what an individual is forcing on you. I speak with more composure than ever, I put my words into series of dimensions above all God have made me know how to follow is doctrines because I read is words. The easiest part of what you do is doing it right, while the hardest part of what you do is putting in lies I might have read different write ups and heard different lectures but what matters the most is that I abide by the lines……By Olaoluwa Badmus
KNOW YOUR SOUND
Many misplaced the sound; a lot of people move with the trend of things and changed the sound. Our culture is the sound and our image represents the tone.
I started falling in love with Hip hop from the age of eight the stories and beat were all cultural it represents a movement which allows people represent their thought through beats and deep rhyming. You can never be in love with rap music without having a story that touches your heart or moreover a story that speaks to you directly;
Shadow business was one of my favorite rap songs performed by Vinnie paz this song made me understand why artist that spit deep lines never get the required attention. Slavery is part of our daily live a lot of people work as slaves in organizations this song helps to describe the real term of slavery. Slavery does not necessarily mean to be forced into something it comes from different angles. Lot of people serves as slaves because they work for the progress of others and they don’t get the required props.
I was feeling the beat I forgot disturbing issues all I was focused on was just the rhymes, Vinnie paz came hard on this he expressed him self because hip hop is all about expressing yourself. The lyrics are usually deep because these guys do proper research…….
CHRIS BROWN AND L.A.P.D
Hey Guys!
Y’all know we have to talk about those standoff shenanigans with Chris Brown and the L.A.P.D. right? So let’s go… Tuesday Breezy was arrested after law enforcement descended on his mansion in L.A., after a gathering at his house where he allegedly pulled a gun out on pageant queen Baylee Curran. According to TMZ, Curran said she was simply admiring some jewelry being shown to her by a friend of Chris Brown when both Chris and his friend flipped out on her. Chris forcefully told Curran to “get the f*** out” and pointed a gun at her. She also claims that when she tried to leave Chris’ crew wouldn’t let her take her cell phone until she signed a non-disclosure agreement. She refused to sign, and she and her friend left. No ma’am that sounds like some ol’ bulls**t. #NoTeaNoShadeNoPinkLemonade but Baylee knows that she was in there recklessly eyeballin’ that jewelry and plottin’ to jack Breezy. It has been reported that Baylee has a shady past. She is a suspect in a 2013 grand larceny case in NYC, the tea is that she stole a woman’s Louis Vuitton handbag that contained a Micheal Kors wallet, cash and credit cards at the Plaza Hotel. It’s has also been reported that Baylee sent a text message to a friend revealing her plans to set up the R&B singer. So this week Bow Wow got dragged on social media again after announcing his retirement from the rap game! IDK about you but when I first saw this story I had crickets playing in my head?! How can he retire from a job that he hasn’t been on in like 10 years? #NoTeaNoShadeNoPinkLemonade but I think we all know that Bow Wow was fired from being a rapper a long time ago I guess he just didn’t get the memo (Kanye shrugs). Anywho let’s move on and talk about Amina Buddafly, Peter Gunz and their new addition.

AMINA BUDDAFLY AND PETER GUNZ WELCOMED THEIR SECOND CHILD
Congratulations are in order for Love & Hip Hop New York stars Amina Buddafly and Peter Gunz because this week they welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Bronx. Now guys this is Peter’s 10 child and keep in mind that Bronx was born only a few months after her half brother Gunner. Whose mother is the 49-year-old rapper’s ex Tara Wallace who is also a L&HHP NY cast member?! That adds up to some ol’ bull$**t, but that’s another whole mess that I won’t even get into right now because we’ve gotta talk about these shenanigans with R. Kelly.

Drake Announces Mystery Event On Instagram
Drake loves a good surprise—just ask all his billboards—and today is no exception.
Earlier, the Canadian rapper shared the above Instagram, promising "The Ballet," an event billed as "a new dance experience" that will take place in Houston, Texas on Monday, September 5 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
It's unclear if this is at all related to Drake's upcoming project, Please Forgive Me, which is scheduled to drop on September 30. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Drake’s 12-Minute Music Video for ‘Child’s Play’ is Him in All His Cliché-ridden Glory.
Rihanna’s on-again/off-again sidepiece maybe-boyfriend definitely boyfriend is one of hip-hop’s most intriguing figures for the way he blends discordant qualities into something that would work for no one else. He’s the geek as wannabe gangsta who lets you see right through the performance, and still somehow wins cred points. He’s the thoughtful mama’s boy who rap-croons sweetly, but the content of his lyrics is more often than not filled with scaldingly retrograde gender and sexual politics. He’s authentically inauthentic, pulling on poses and slipping into badly rendered patois that no one calls him on. He makes corniness work for him, to the point that he’s an inexplicable sex symbol.
The best part of Drake’s 12-minute video for “Child’s Play,” co-directed by him and Carlos “Spiff TV” Suarez, is Tyra Banks as the shrewish, put upon girlfriend who drops the f-bomb and smushing cheesecake in Drake’s face in the middle of a date at the Cheesecake Factory. It’s a stereotypical figure who only works here because it’s Tyra playing her. The character’s loud outburst and dramatic exit are the prologue to Drake posting up in a strip-club setting where he lip-synchs the track while making it rain, and then also tries to mean mug with his boys in the club parking lot. Corny? Absolutely. Just don’t even try to fight it, though.you can watch with the link
